Your child will be performing for the PTA on Thursday, February 2 for the 6:30 p.m. for the evening PTA meeting. Your child needs to arrive in the Media Center by 6:15 p.m.
Your child will need to wear a white shirt, black (very dark) pants, and dark shoes for our performance.
Your child can practice the songs for the program at home by visiting www.musick8kids.com. Choose the songs from the play list and either listen along or download your own personal copy for a small fee.
Our theme this year is SCIENCE!
Discovery
Open your eyes and look toward the future. Open your eyes and see what could be. Open your heart and feel what could happen. Open your mind and find discovery. Look around! Discover! Oh, the things we’ll see! Come aboard the journey! Come and learn what could be! Look around! Discover! Oh, the things we’ll do! Like a big adventure! Like a dream coming true! Discovery! Discovery!

The Water Cycle
‘Round and ‘round and ‘round and ‘round. ‘Round and ‘round and ‘round and ‘round. ‘Round and ‘round and ‘round and ‘round. ‘Round and ‘round and ‘round and ‘round.
Evaporation. Condensation. Precipitation. Accumulation. That’s the water cycle. Water from rivers, oceans, and lakes turns to vapor. Clouds form high in the sky. The RAIN comes down. Water goes back to where it began. ‘Round and ‘round it goes. That’s the water cycle.
‘Round and ‘round and ‘round and ‘round. ‘Round and ‘round and ‘round and ‘round. ‘Round and ‘round and ‘round and ‘round. ‘Round and ‘round and ‘round and ‘round.

Magnets
Magnets push. Magnets pull. Magnets stick to certain metals. Like iron! Magnets can stick to each other. Or push each other away.

Groundhog Galop
If the groundhog sees his shadow, we’ll have six more weeks of winter. If the groundhog sees his shadow, we’ll have six more weeks of cold! Please don’t let him see his shadow, back into the ground, you groundhog! Please don’t let him see his shadow. Run, you groundhog! Groundhog run!
They’re off!
Go, go, go, go! Groundhog go, groundhog go! Go, go, go, go! Go you groundhog, go, go! Go, go, go, go! Groundhog go, groundhog go! Go, go, go, go! Go ___ groundhog go!

Viva Vernal Equinox
One revolution. Earth travels once a year around the sun. Many rotations. Patterns of light are changing from the sun. Seasons are born four times a year. Spring, summer, fall, winter, too. Now it’s the spring that we begin. Springtime makes everything new!
Viva! Viva! Viva vernal equinox! Viva! Viva! Viva vernal equinox!
At the equator, two times a year the sun appears to us. Daytime and nighttime seem to be almost the same length to us. This equinox, two times a year, happens in spring and in fall.
But it’s the spring now we begin, singing with our vernal call!
Viva! Viva! Viva vernal equinox! Viva! Viva! Viva vernal equinox! Viva! Viva! Viva vernal equinox! Viva! Viva! Viva vernal equinox!
Where No One Has Gone Before
Flying by the rings of Saturn. Analyze the soil on Mars. See the Great Red Spot of Jupiter. How far, how far to reach the stars? Wouldn’t it be grand if we could fly out there? See the galaxy first hand? Until then, we will send inter-stellar spacecraft. Send us pictures. Send us data. Help us understand. Exploring space for the betterment of all. Where no one has gone before, they go for us.
Venture all the way to Pluto. Soon we’ll orbit Mercury. Cruising far beyond the Kuiper Belt. Oh what a journey that would be! Wouldn’t it be grand if we could fly out there? See the galaxy first hand? Until then, we will send inter-stellar spacecraft. Send us pictures. Send us data. Help us understand. Exploring space for the betterment of all. Where no one has gone before, they go for us. They go for us. They go for us.
It’s Science!
Did you ever wonder how the birds fly up in the air? Did you ever wonder how a vector helps you pick up the spare? Did you ever wonder why the earth spins? Did you ever wonder how a frog croaks? Open your eyes and summarize. It’s science! Did you ever wonder how the wind helps flying a kite? Did you ever wonder why the sky is blue or black at night? Did you ever wonder what’s a rainbow? Did you ever wonder why does heat rise? Try to surmise and theorize. It’s science!
Science can help us understand when we study things first hand.
Did you ever wonder how a magnet sticks to the fridge? Did you ever wonder how engineers design a bridge? Did you ever wonder how it thunders? Did you ever wonder what is lightning? Leap through the skies and ionize. It’s science! Did you ever wonder why the tide comes crashing ashore? Did you ever wonder why it’s so hot in the earth’s core? Did you ever wonder how do stars shine? Did you ever wonder how a gas burns? Cover your eyes and oxidize. It’s science!
We can use science for our good when we use it as we should.
Did you ever wonder why the rain falls? Did you ever wonder why the clouds float? Don’t be surprised – you realize. (boys) It’s science! (girls) Leap through the skies and ionize! It’s science! (boys) Try to surmise and theorize! It’s science! (girls) Open your eyes and summarize! (all) It’s science!
