Be a Hero and Help the Kids of
Clarkdale Elementary!
This week, our community was slammed by drenching rains
which caused serious flooding in many parts of the Atlanta metro area. If you watch 11Alive News, you’ve seen the shocking photos of Clarkdale Elementary
School in Austell. The teachers and students
of Clarkdale were forced to evacuate quickly as the flood waters poured in and
destroyed their beloved school Everything
had to be left behind: lesson plans,
books, bookbags, computers, paper and pencils. Many of the children lost not
only their school, but their homes as well. Getting
back on their feet won’t be easy, but now
you can do something to help.
Today through Sunday,
support the Clarkdale Elementary Flood Relief Drive and stop by any metro area School Box location with a box of brand new school supplies. You can find everything you need inside the School Box or just drop them off. And this Monday,
September 28, from 5:45pm until
7:30pm, 11Alive will be on site at Ewing Road Baptist
Church (4699
Ewing Road, Austell Georgia 30106) to cheer on
the Clarkdale Elementary students as they pick up their new supplies.
School officials and 11Alive employees will be there to help sort and organize
the materials.
This is a tough time for many of our friends and neighbors, but
it can be your chance to give back to your community in a very personal way.
