Don't Forget!! Field Trip is Friday!

Our field trip to the Zoo is on Friday!  Don't forget to wear your class t-shirt (gold with white letters) on Friday and if you need to bring your lunch, please bring juice or water to drink and everything must be in a throw away container.  We will board the buses by 9:15 and return by 1:30pm.  RAIN OR SHINE so dress accordingly!  We have a 1 1/2 hour guided tour and then some free exploration time after that! 

Homework Assignment

Your students might have brought home their writing journal and a piece of construction paper with pictures drawn on it.  If they did, here is what they need to do.  The story we read was Owen, by Kevin Henkes.  Owen had a special blanket that got REALLY dirty.  They are two write about the things that made their "blanket" dirty.  For example, "On my special blankie, I have orange juice from my breakfast.  I also spilled strawberry milk on it. At lunchtime, I ate a sandwith that had swiss cheese in it.  Then I drank some cherry juice and wiped my face off on the blanket....."  Thank you for helping your student with their homework!

Homeroom Placement Requests - From Maurine Kozol & Leslie Mansfield

 

The 2009-2010 school year is quickly coming to a close, which is hard to believe!!  We know that many of you would like the opportunity to have a voice in the homeroom placement of your child/children for the 2010-11 school year.  If so, please submit a letter to the attention of Maurine Kozol or Leslie Mansfield, indicating the teacher qualities you believe are a perfect match for your student/students.   Please do not request a specific teacher by name as those requests will not be honored.  It is more important than ever to know qualities that will match your student because grade level assignments for teachers will be made very late this year due to the unprecedented budget crisis.  Although there is no guarantee that we will be able to honor your request, all written suggestions will be taken into consideration.   The deadline date for submission of this letter is Friday, May 15, 2010.  Thank you.

New Lunch Time!! Until The End of The Year---

Beginning Wednesday, April 21st, a new LUNCH and SPECIALS schedule will go into effect due to "Maymester," which will take the place of summer school for 3rd and 5th grades.  Our lunch time is __11:58am._______ and we go to specials at __10:45 am________. 

The Big Bad Musical comes to Blackwell

The Big Bad Musical is a musical presentation that is coming to Blackwell on Friday April 23rd at 4:00pm.  It is being presented by the Curtain Call Youth Players.  It is free!  So, you can either stay at ASP for $7 (all ASP students will be seeing this presentation) and see the show or you can go home and then come back with a parent and see the show.  It is free but if you go home and come back, your parent must stay with you through the show.  Come enjoy a great musical and celebrate the end of CRCT testing!

CRCT Starts Tomorrow!

Don't forget that the CRCT testing starts tomorrow.  Get a good night's sleep, eat a good breakfast and come to school on time!  See you then!
