What are we studying in math?

Well, we have been working on our math facts.  Do you know the math facts to 18?  Hopefully you do, because we have started working on 2 digit by 2 digit addition and subtraction.  For example, what is 24 + 12 ?  What is 39 - 14?  We are not doing any regrouping.  Can you tell me what each digit of a number represents?

Have you been studying?  Have you been doing the practice tests?  If not, it is not too late.....here is a great website to go to.  We have been going to this website every Wednesday in the computer lab.  It can be accessed from home;  Click Here for SkillsTutor.  The Id is the students login number (they should know it) and the password is 1234.  If, for some reason, the side id is not there it is blackwell01....keep studying.   

Our Next Social Studies Unit Is.....

Folktale heroes!  Are they real or fiction?  Can you tell me which ones are real and which ones are not?   Here they are:  Johnny Appleseed, John Henry, Paul Bunyan, Davy Crockett, Annie Oakley.  Right now we are learning about Johnny Appleseed and will start John Henry this week also.  Can you tell me what important conntributions Johnny Appleseed made to American history?

Yes, Spring is here finally!  Yeah!  Hopefully no more snow.  Let's hear it for spring and warm weather.  Hooray!

Two hour delay on Wednesday March 3rd

Due to inclement weather, Cobb County Schools will open on a two hour delay tomorrow, Wednesday March 3rd.  Elementary School will start at 9:50 am.  See you then!
