How time flies! We have been very busy at school these past weeks. In math, we are counting by ones, twos, fives, and tens. We continue to work on addition and subtraction in computation and problem solving. Money is a daily project with counting and fair trades. Language Arts includes guided reading groups, shared groups where we are studying "connections" in books to us, to another story, or to things that have happened in our world. Also we are focusing on retelling the WHOLE story to include the setting, characters, and beginning, middle, and end. In writing we are working on writing narratives that will include "transitional" words like before, then, after, at last, etc.
As you can see we are working hard. In Social Studies we have been learning about our street, city, county, state, country, continent, and world. We recently included the oceans. We will be studying land forms, water, and Ben Franklin.
