Important Information

Attention Parents!  There are several important reminders for you as we end our school year.  Please remember:

Field Day has been postponed to Thursday, May 14th.  If you are able to volunteer on that day, please send me a note to let me know!

Send in a LARGE self-addressed envelope with TWO stamps on it.  It will be used to send home report cards and other important information.  Report cards will be held for those that do not send in the envelope.

All Library books must be turned in by Friday, May 8th.

The following is a note regarding placement for next year:

Families – It is hard to believe that the end of the 2008-09 school year is at hand.   I know many of you would like the opportunity to have a voice in the homeroom placement of your child/children for the 2009-10 school year.  If so, please submit a letter to the attention of  Maurine Kozol and Leslie Mansfield indicating the teacher qualities you believe are a perfect match for your student/students.   Please do not request a specific teacher by name as those requests will not be honored.  Although there is no guarantee that we will be able to honor your request, we take all written suggestions into consideration.   Deadline date for submission of this letter will be Friday, May 15th.   Thank you.

Maurine Kozol, Principal

Leslie Mansfield, Assistant Principal

Last but not least, Happy Birthday Dana (Saturday, May 9th)!

CRCT Preparation

Welcome back from Spring Break!  I hope that everyone had a restful break.  As you already know, we are preparing for the CRCT this week.  The test will begin next Tuesday, April 21, for 3 days.  We will be taking tests on Reading, Language Arts (Grammar), and Math.  Each test takes appoximately 2 hours.  Please make sure your child gets plenty of rest and a healthy breakfast each morning.

We are sending home CRCT practice tests for homework.  Please go over the answers with your child.  It is important for them to understand why they may choose a wrong answer.  When they make a mistake, learning takes place!

Congratulations to our April Star, Malinda!  She is a fabulous reader and has really worked on handwriting.  She is polite and always willing to help.

Also, we will be celebrating India's birthday this Friday.  Happy Birthday India!
