Important Information:

Families- It is hard to believe that the end of the 2008-09 school year is at hand.  I know many of you would like the opportunity to have a voice in the homeroom placement of your child for the 2009-10 school year.  Please submit a letter to the attention of Maurine Kozol and Leslie Mansfield indicating tha teacher qualities you believe are a perfect match for your student.  Please do not request a specific teacher by name.  Dealine date for this letter will be Friday, Mayi 15th.

1.  CRCT TESTING TUESDAY, WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY!

2.  TEST WILL START PROMPTLY AT 8:00

3.  MAKE SURE THAT YOUR CHILD IS AT SCHOOL ON TIME.

4.  MAKE SURE THAT YOUR CHILD HAS A GOOD BREAKFAST.

5.  MAKE SURE THAT YOUR CHILD GOES TO BED ON TIME.  DO NOT LET THEM STAY UP LATE.

1.  Make sure your child understands and comprehends their AR books.  The class is doing Wonderful with reading and taking AR test.  I am very proud of everyone in the class.

2.  Continue to work on addition and subtraction facts to 18 for memory.

Also continue to work on counting money to $1.00.

3.  Remember spelling test are every Friday.

Publix Math Night if on Tuesday   Hope to see everyone for a fun night!

Happy Read Across America Day!!

Monday is Read Across America Day.  Students may dress up as their favorite book character!  Bring your favorite book to share with the class!

2.  TUESDAY, MARCH 3RD IS EARLY RELEASE DAY!!  STUDENTS ARE DISMISSED AT 12:15.

3.  Thursday March 5th is PTA at Blackwell.

4.  Read wth your child daily.  Use the questioning sticks I gave you at conference time to work on comprehension.

5.  Have your child count money to you up to $1.00.

6.  Work on math facts up to 18.  (addition and subtraction)

1.  Study spelling words, your test will be on Friday.

2.  Study addition and subtraction math facts up to 18.

3.  work on high frequency words

4.  If you are on AR, read your AR book

5.  If you have a reading log, read your book and return it to me.

Week of February 2nd!!

I would like to thank every parent that came to conferences!  I really enjoyed talking to everyone and discussing your childs' progress.  Again, thank you for coming to your child's conference.

Upcoming News:

1.  Early Release Day is Wednesday, February 4th.  The children will be dismissed at 12:15.

2.  In math, we are working on money, (counting and coming up with ways to equal 75cents, $1.00)

3.  Continue to work on hour and half hour on the clock.

4.  Also continue to work on adding and subtracting facts to 14.

5.  Read daily with your child and use the questioning sticks that I gave you at conference time.
