News for the week of Dec. 12th

1.  Continue to work on vhigh frequency words.

2.  Read AR or book sent by the teacher.

3.  Continue to work on counting coins up to $1.00 and counting the ones, fives, tens, and twenty dollar bills.

 4.. OUR HOLIDAY PARTY IS THURSDAY DEC 22ND AT 12:00 

OUR last day of school for the year is Dec. 22nd.

1.  Please work with your child on counting pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters.

2.  Please work with your child on counting one, five, ten and twenty dollar bills.

3.  Continue to read your AR books.

4.  Continue to go over your child's vocabulary words.

 

Bonus :  Write 1 fact that you learned about Thomas Jefferson and bring into class for a treat!!

News for November 11th

Hi Parents,

 

Our landform projects were awesome and so creative!!  I am so proud of everyone in my class!!

They are on display in the library, if you would like to see everyones.

Remember that our Thanksgiving feast is on Friday, Nov. 18th at 11:26.

Our Thanksgiving play is immediately following our Thanksgiving Feast.  I hope to see you on Friday.

Extra Credit:

Write and draw about something that you are thankful for.

3.  WE ARE PRESENTING A THANKSGIVING PLAY IMMEDIATELY AFTER OUR FEAST ON NOV 18TH IN OUR CLASSROOM.  WE HOPE THAT EVERYONE CAN ATTEND.

4.  LANDFORM PROJECT IS DUE NOV 11TH.

News for the week of October 31st

A BIG THANK YOU FOR ALL THE PARENTS THAT CAME FOR CONFERENCES!!  It was so nice to talk to you about all of the wonderful things you child is doing and learning in first grade.

1.  Continue to read AR books and go over vocabulary.

2.  Continue to work on addition and subtraction facts up to 18.  The students need to do 30 problems in 5 minutes.

3.  Starting on Monday, we will begin our study of Landforms.  The students will come home on Monday, with a Landform project that will be due on Friday, November 11th.

Extra Credit:  Have your child read any book that they want to and:  On a full sheet of paper 1.  Write the title of the book.2.  The author of the book 3.  Illustrate a cover for the book. 4. Bring this into class on Monday for a special treat!

Dear Parents,

   What a great week we had in first grade!  We are taking timed addition and subtraction test to 10 in 5 minutes.

2.  We are learning about short 0 and short 0 words.

3.  We learned about Johnny Appleseed.

4.  We made applesauce!!  Yummy!

5. Continue to work on addition and subtraction facts to 10 for memory.

6.  Continue to work on your 200 word list, 2nd grade or 3rd grade words.

7.  Continue to read daily with your child.( ask who, what and where questions about the book)

Bonus :

 

Draw a picture of something that you like that is made out of apples or write 3 sentences about facts that you learned about Johnny Appleseed.  Bring this to your teacher on Monday for a treat!

We are having a super week in first grade.

1.  We have learned alot about Ben Franklin.

2.  We are working on addition and subtraction facts to 10.

3.  We are working on out 200 words.

Remember your Ben Franklin Project is due Tuesday,  Sept 27th.

*Tell or write down on a piece of paper the city and state that you live in!!

Bulldog News for the Week of Sept. 19th

We are off to a great start in first grade!

Thank you parents for coming to open house!  It was great to see everyone.

Important information:

1.  If you have not sent in your $5 for weekly readers, please do so.

2.  We are asking for a donation of $2-3 dollars for math bracelets.

3.  Please work on addition  and subtraction facts to 10 with your child.  They should be able to do 30 problems in 5 minutes.

4.  Read daily.

5.  Go over 200 word list.

6.  We are learning about Ben Franklin.  Draw a picture of an invention that Ben

Franklin invented.  Bring this into school for a special treat!
